Hi, I'm currently using a mac, and would like to try and setup the linux render nodes that I received when I purchased terragen 3. I have multiple linux machines and would like to setup a very small render-farm via linux render nodes. Can someone help me get started as I'm not sure how to actually set this up. Is there any instructional documentation that would walk me through this process.

Any help would be very appreciated, Thanks.

Hi,
I cant help because I have never owned more than one PC at a time. But I can tell you that there are some threads both on the linux question, and on render managers.

You can try the search option, but that may or may not get you to the threads.

Thanks for the reply.  I've tried using the search command, but I just can't find this information. This seems like it should be in the documentation since you get these linux render nodes with your pc or mac license. I would like to actually use them, but have no idea on how to set them up for use.  Sooooo frustrating.

anyway thanks for responding, I appreciate that.

Yeah, search is hit or miss.

There are several threads on "render managers" which you will want to learn about. For linux you could try to PM "efflux" he is the resident TG/linux madman.

there are more conversations too. Linux is harder.

Installation is simple, I believe it's just an unzip/extract. Instructions should be included in the Linux app file. There is no built-in network render management functionality, so you'll have to either start individual renders manually on each machine, or find a compatible render manager to help you streamline and automate the process. A short list of known-working options is here:
