Yeah, the image was looking good, but just lacking some color and punch. Can depend on what you're after, but getting the software Hannes mentions or another popular yet powerful program like Gimp will give the basic image controls to bring out color and contrast.
I do video professionally, but mostly shoot and animate graphics. I do light color correction but just don't have the eye for subtlety that some have. It's crazy how finite you can get going down the rabbit hole in post but its often what helps stuff look so good.
