I copied your last image and threw it through some contrast and saturation sliders in Photoshop. (this doesn't fall askew board etiquette right?)  ::)

Cool image. Fun to see its progression here.

That's looking good. I should definitely learn a lot more about postwork. At the moment I do my images 100% in Terragen. And there is much to learn there too...

... so much interesting stuff  - days should have more than 24 hours...

It might be a good start to use a free image viewer like Irfan view instead of a pricy software to learn some (very rudimentary) post processing. Sometimes it's fascinating what a little contrast enhancement, gamma correction or color saturation can do.

Yeah, the image was looking good, but just lacking some color and punch. Can depend on what you're after, but getting the software Hannes mentions or another popular yet powerful program like Gimp will give the basic image controls to bring out color and contrast.

I do video professionally, but mostly shoot and animate graphics. I do light color correction but just don't have the eye for subtlety that some have. It's crazy how finite you can get going down the rabbit hole in post but its often what helps stuff look so good.

GIMP is great. I did some cropping and masking on several photos with it. But that is also just a hobby. There will always be something I could learn about it.  :)
