I wanted to make some sage like in Eastern WA, but couldn't find any leaves to do it, so I tried to paint one. Alas my WACOM was dead (battery in tablet and pen) so I just had to use the mouse anyway. But looks good for distant shots maybe. I tried to do a very rough normal for the fuzzy look, but it doesn't translate in TG well like it does in Materialize. Bark is just proc shaders.

These are more established older bushes you might find in the rough of the desert.

Used in tightly grouped populations, they'd look fine in a desert scene!
They're all wasted!

I tried them out and they are more hero bushes and you could pick out their unique traits too easily. But I reworked them to be more generic shrub like, and lowered some other settings so got 3 plus jpeg textures at 17mb which I can share. Jpeg is probably best since textures re basically crap.

Should have smaller leaves but if I go smaller it's patchy and run out of memory for the app, which I believe is 2gb, wasted primarily on GPU preview.

Looks great!!!
Maybe you answered this before, but which app do you use to create your plants?

WAS

I'm using Java based TreeIt by Evolved Software.

Fairly capable software. Some branchlet issues I don't like, and definitely needs twigs more than singular leaves or needle branches to make dense foliage, but for free really can't beat it. Though ngPlant has better mesh modeling abilities I wish were in TreeIt. Can make like wheat seed bundles and stuff in ngPlant.

Not too shabby at all, has a good, natural look to it.
