QuoteI cheated!

It's different colour cloud layers.

That's not cheating, that's creativity.  :D
Indeed! There is no such thing as cheating in T2TP...

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Well, Heres my effort for what its worth  :)
Had to give up on the first attempt, started the render on friday afternoon at 4:00 pm and when I came in on Monday morning at 8:30 am, it wasn't even half way through  :(  Ho hum

Anyway, here it is. Not at the quality I wanted (see above)

DiscoBall

oh man...those clouds are GOOD  ;D :)

Mmm, the bottom contrasts a bit though, but that may be quality issues :P, and when you render out on max it should be good :)

Also, the bottom low lying clouds you should make foggier like the clouds above-that'd be awesome then :)

And if you used grass particles/models near the end, where there is low lying cloud, that'd give it a more 'rougher, detailed' look.

Great job! I was really impressed with the clouds!

mr-miley

Discoball. Ta very much. Glad you like the clouds... I must admit, I was pleased with them too. I agree with your comments. The "mist" clouds should be .... well... mistier (is that spelt wright?) but I think that that is partly down to having to knock the cloud samples down to get the damn thing to render, and I was too lazy to re render with the density knocked down further :(

Ok, here's my image, after struggling with the displacement, trying to get rid of those jagged spires jutting out of the terrain I've given up.

king_tiger_666

Great effort with the clouds ;D ;D ;D ;D

are you talking about the spikes on the right? the ones on the left look ok to me

Great clouds and overall sky. The spikes are mostly an issue of the colour-roughness inside the colour tab of the power fractal shader. Set it to 1 or lower.

rcallicotte

ProjectX - nice overall picture.  I like everything about it.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Dark Fire

Those last two pictures are amazing. Both, among other things, have great clouds...

Clever idea!  I love the detail you've added to the terrain.  Nice work overall.
