I put this one together today (while rendering) using about 5 different photographs I took of different things.  Getting each element to blend properly was the difficult part.  The beach and city were shot during mid-day, so blending them with a sunset - what a job, but fun!

I set a "few hour" limit.  I like the simple and fast type of stuff.

I hope you like it.

is this matte painting??

Pretty much and I plan on using TGTP stuff too.  Keep in mind, you can also combine TGTP images in the same way for amazing results.

Very nice work!  Everything here is blended exceptionally well.

More like a photo composite, but it's cool and well done regardless.

This compositing routine would make adding water/shores easier. T2 does a good job with water, but I've yet to come close to decent waves breaking onto a shore. I'll get there....

Yea, most definitely.  I've been working with composing super high res photos of shoreline and sand directly into a TG2 image.  I'll see if I can post a sample shortly.  I've been taking some time off from rendering to refresh my mind... I just starting making new image compositions, and hoping to combine them with renders.
