ok, satisfied with the snow now. Now i need to make some work on the rocks, some grass is planned and still some trees in the lower parts.
comments and critics welcome!!

I quite like the rock as it is, maybe a little sharper in places from freeze thaw. I know you said you're happy with the snow, but could you smooth out the lumps in the distance? I guess if you're putting trees there, then there would be no need.

Beautiful image by the way, love the rock peaks.

Tangled-Universe

I like the snow :)

You might add some bump to the rocks by adding a small scale PF with low displacement factor.
The shading/texturing of the rocks is pretty already.

I wouldn't put grasses in the very near foreground, but perhaps a bit more to the back, blending over in trees.

Another thing you might try to improve is the clouds, because I think they are not up to par with the rest.
Maybe make them follow the terrain on the steep cliff at the back ;)

The snow in the background will be covered by another layer w/o intersection. U just forgot to activate this layer. ;)
No grass... Maybe. Some bushes w/o leaves would work better I guess.
Regarding the clouds: I gonna have to dig through this great tutorial TU wrote, but as I was about to accomplish this with functions anyway, I will for sure make them follow the terrain!

Thx and best regards,

trees! (fake stones, i think a little bit over-sized?)
currently doing a testrender with new clouds and a better light setup.

Woahwa! I hope you're wearing a parachute. The wide angle is giving me vertigo, especially now the trees give this more scale.

I think he is going to break his legs :D

and why are trees on an angle?

GREAT improvement!
You might try to make the trees a bit lighter by upping the diffuse colour value in the needle-shader. Increasing the translucency to about 0.7 will also work and don't forget to give it a bit of specularity for extra realism.

Are you going to put clouds back in? In the background for instance?
Lastly the motion blur of course :) I will help you with that, as promised.

Cheers,
Martin

Nice improvements!
From this viewpoint right now it looks to me like the snowboarder is some 30 meters in size... just me or a scaling issue?
