Still working on this one. Thought you would like a look. Foreground tree is Mr-Miley's horse chestnut, the covered bridge is mine, done in Cinema 4D. all other trees are X-frog trees. I m rendering a less hazy version right now.

Enjoy

yes...I was gonna say less fog would be better....and another suggestion....instead of the river flowing through....make it a really shallow creek with water transparency and lots of fakes stones in various sizes...

the lighting is good too....foreground is nicely detailed...and the background has a sense of deep forest.....

really good work!...keep it up!

This is interesting.  Trees a tad fake and the bushes are too cookie-cutter.  I like the lighting, POV and the house looks sort of mysterious.  It could use some texturing, but maybe it will be better once the objects are better.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Its not a house...its an overpass

Thank you D.

Still a work in progress, The main things are the foreground tree's bark (Thanks Mr-Miley) and the quality settings.

I have 20 different populations and or single models which seems to affect the program as far as crashing goes. When I try to turn up the GI above 1,1 the program crashes, likewise I can only turn the Detail up to .45 and AA up to 5 or it crashes. The crash usually happens just as the pre-pass finishes. My hope is that someday I can come back to this image and add all of the vegetation I had originally planned and crank up the detail, AA, GI.

I will upload the Covered bridge model if Ashunder doesn't have a problem with a 149 meg .tgo.

Enjoy

This is looking great!  The foreground vegetation, especially the grass, looks really realistic, and the lighting is nice as well.  I feel like a little more time spent on the creek's banks is needed to bring that part up with the rest of the image.  As for uploading the walkway... we can only accept 100MB uploads right now.  I changed the settings to be able to accept a file that large, but I might need Oshyan to go into the PHP config file and raise that limit too.  Give it a try, but if it doesn't work, it would be great if you could compress it down to 100MB.

Ok on the compress, that is the file size without being zipped. I will try to upload later today. :)

Also I am still working on the banks and will keep the forum posted.

light and grass are simply marvelous !
too bad for the crashes... it seems that TG2 is not ready yet for the final version ;)

Still I remain optimistic. :)

Compress with WinRAR or 7-zip (.rar or .7z) and you should be able to get it down to a size that can be uploaded.

I'm kind of assuming the crashes here aren't necessarily due to populations but rather to the water with reflections, etc. Are you using reflectivity on the water? Does it still crash at higher detail levels if you disable the populations? How much memory do you have and what does memory use look like when rendering, especially right before a crash?

No How much memory do you have (3 gig)and what does memory use look like when rendering, especially right before a crash?I haven't checked that I will on the next render

I love the foreground....but there seems to be something wrong with background leaves and water....

It just comes to the end of the pre-pass for the GI and I get the Windows crash dialog asking me if I want to report the crash. It happens as soon as the last dot of the pre-pass is done every time. I am using image maps for the distribution of my populations should that matter?
