@wetbanana - your renders are very good.  What do you think you'll do next?

Thanks ;D um im actually working on proper daz importation of models ie real models with skin and hair the only trouble is, is that terragen unlike every other apllication import the colour maps but doesn't import any alpha or bump maps grrrrrr >:( so I have to manually insert about 100 bump and alpha maps to my or else it will look Mr. Blobby:0

also when I add the alpha maps to the hair they seem to be too fine detail for terragen and well the person just look like they have poored straight peroxide over their head and wondered why the have all these bald patches :-\

so I have had a pretty shit experience these past couple of days with terragen I have been having a blast with vue this past week and its been superb
I realise that vue has pretty much caught up to terragen 2 in everything except landscapes its lighting is better (MUCH MUCH BETTER) it fast I mean Hell fast:o im talking 30 minute renders not 30 hour ones it imports objects properly not pissing you off by leaving out the alpha maps and bump maps and you can actually see your object not just some box you have to push about and render each time just to line it up properly and it renders objects far more realisticy than terragen :-\
So I now take all the coments back I said about Vue their is still a lot of problems with it but its improved heaps

it is pretty obvious, that with your kind of render, Vue is clearly a lot simple to use...
a lot of models capacity, different kind of light, and even postwork included in the render...
you use TG2 as Vue... it's like using Vue as TG2 ...I mean : you use weak points of TG2 (with success), so it is like doing pure powerfractal landscape with fake stones on Vue ;)

you are right seth sorry for that outburst just days of frustration building up and after the nightmare creating urbis :P I had to let of steam arghhhhh!
I think im just going to do a nice simple atmosphere with terragen nothing special lol! tg2 still kiks butt with atmo's and clouds
um but terragens whole model importation and workflow needs a massive revamp I must say the workflow at the moment is very sloppy

I totally agree, TG2 really needs to improve its way to control models. It's a major weakness to me !

I get fed up in about 3 minutes. They sent me an email last week, a poll. Will I buy anything from them. What might I buy if I did purchase anything. Is there something we do not supply?

I told them I would most likely never buy anything there. I mean most of the stuff would only make a mildly interesting lesbian porno cartoon. If I can afoord it, I'll go to NWDA thank you.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

Heh, I got the same email poll. I wrote a long comment at the end, saying that every time I get an email from them, its just a giant splash page full of either Poser models, Poser hair, or Poser clothes. None of which I'd ever be interested in buying.

I know they sell other stuff - I think they do at least - I've clicked over there and noticed somewhere under all the clothes and shit that they do sell actual objects. But that Cornucopia is unbeatable with their prices and Turbosquid will 95% of the time have the model I need, though sometimes of questionable quality... Maybe if they sometimes put something useful on their splash page emails, people might be more inclined to go buy something.

I didn't realize there was such a lucrative market for Poser accessories. That kind of creeps me out actually.
