Terragen 2 Contest

Orbital render could work, but I'm still hesitant to do a cloud contest because they can take so damn long to render right now. I'm saving that one for later. I think I might go orbital render first, then try a photo matching contest when that one is done. I'll see if I get time to write up the rules for the contest and the thread later today.

Brother Melt,

I think we should have a wave compition myself. And the top 3 winners share how they got thier effects? I think that would be a killer compitition and that way we could also learn more about the shaders and how they work with water more.
I saw some of the waves you made in that post and I thought ya did real good, and I am going to play more in that area myself over the next month. Anyway just an idea for a good compitition. OOH and no animation for that one /winks, not sure we could diop it if we did have full version yet anyway.

That would be a good competition, but I'm not sure how many people would participate in it due to its level of difficulty. I think I'm going to go with the orbital render contest first.

Hehehehehe as you said that one is a hard one and I agree but Wow could it be a hot one for us to have fun with, so I am going to get a head start on that one before hand hahahahaha, due to the fact I am a artist/not programmer and I am llot slower then most in some areas of understanding. But OMG I love what you posted Melt on the waves yourself, and more then anything it looks like I just need the time to Tweak, think, tweak, think, tweak, go for bike ride, think, tweak, maybe one day I figure it our ROTFGL hahahahaha. Don't need to animate it for now, single shots will make me bones happy for now in the short run. Like the one you posted on thforums with a single frame.

OK, let us know when the rules are up for the orbital render contest comp ifen ya would, and I talk with ya'll soon /winks.

ya orbital render contest sounds like a good idea too...easy to render, faster to make them....just using external objects should not be allowed.....

I am going to wait until April 1st to start the contest if thats ok with everyone. I'm pretty busy now and that will give me some time to get everything together. Also makes the end date a lot easier to remember

. They actually aren't very competative right now - the community as a whole has slowed down on the posting and are still trying to get their heads wrapped around TG2 just like everyone else.

The orbital render contest is now up! Make sure to read all of the rules and don't hesitate to ask if anything is ambiguous. This contest is much easier than the last one, so I'm hoping to get more entries this time. I think I will have a shot at it as well for that matter

hey meltingice, I have a question...does the render HAS to be in 4:3 aspect ratio???....or it can be anything? and is the use of external 3d models allowed???

This is good to hear. The more I get into this program, the less I post here. At least this is true lately.
