Awesome work. The chain must have been a pain to make. I know from ZBrush it's pretty hard to get a curvebased chain of objects around something. But isn't it fun to construct these scenes!

Adding people to the scene . . . these hardworking guys are operating a crab winch, used to hoist stone blocks into place.

Nice POV and a really beautiful rendering.

If you like to get more details in the gas giant, create another gas planet map with a Jupiter Map as base map and add more details here and there from Junos high resolution photos.
I did it 2018 and received great results, especially in the so-called Great Red Spot with the Cassini Jupiter Map which had original only 3601 x 1801 pixel !

So a good starter is here... https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/12021
But the best available is the map from Björn Jónsson https://planetary.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/images/5-jupiter/2018/jupiter_map_css_plus_juno_bj.png

The sample image of Jupiter was rendered with this older Cassini Map.
The map was retouched, processed, re-sharpened, de-noised, and I added more details. So my map revealed at the end much more details in the big sample rendering of Jupiter.
I'm sure, that with the latest map from Björn Jónsson the results achieved would be even more dramatic !!!

Terragen Discussion / Re: Stacked Heightfields?
Last post by Kevin Kipper - October 11, 2024, 05:32:05 PM
Yes, you can stack heightfields on top of each other.

One way would be to merge the green Heightfield Load nodes together via the Heightfield Merge node.  You would still be able to apply Heightfield operators, like Erode v3, to each individual heightfields.

You could also chain together the red Heightfield shader nodes (Output to Main Input), or use a Merge shader to connect them.

If you're only seeing the effect of one Heightfield, it may be due to the Flatten Surface First checkbox being enabled under the Displacement tab of the Heightfield shader node.

Terragen Discussion / Stacked Heightfields?
Last post by AlianaAR - October 11, 2024, 03:40:13 PM
Can Heightfields be stacked on top of one another and still be controlled separately? If so, how? Could someone demonstrate the proper way to stack the nodes please?

What I want to do -

Lowest terrain: Global Fractal Native Terrain as seafloor

Next layer up: Continent shape heightfield acting as continental shelf

Next layer up: Specific terrain continent heightfield 2.

I can get one to work on top of the native terrain, not both.

Only two weeks? ;)

Brilliant work. Detail in the gas giant atmosphere, and layering of the atmosphere in the foreground is amazing.
