I'm currently working on using displacement intersection on the snow. Looks good so far. Also, a voronoi function for the sparkles does a great job. I'll post an update this evening, first I got to work.

i think the distribution of the snow looks a lot bettter now in the most places; but i have these sharp lines again
so, still some more work to do.

last update for today

the pov is a little bit changed, an alpine fractal added outside the heightfield and some clouds below the pov.

Latest one is looking quite good. There's a bit of slightly odd snow blending with rock on the left, otherwise the snow is very well done. I definitely like the addition of the clouds and other terrain in the distance, it gives it a real epic, lonely quality.

If I where you, I would start testing the motion blur right now. Otherwise you could spend time adding details that get blurred away later on.
