New in v0.9
Terragen v0.9 represents a merging of the public and previously
non-public versions of Terragen,
and includes significant new functionality over v0.8.68.
- Faster rendering - Renders images and animations in a shorter time by ignoring parts of the terrain, water or sky that are not visible in the final image.
- Improved anti-aliasing (registered users only) - A new anti-aliasing option, "Extra Blended Detail", provides more detail in the terrain and water, and dramatically reduces "popping" artifacts in animations by applying level-of-detail blending to surface textures.
- Orthographic rendering - An orthographic rendering option in Camera Settings, with a handy Auto Setup feature, makes the process of exporting texture maps and other orthographic views much simpler.
- New water features - "Wave roughness variation" to simulate variations in wind patterns or turbulence across large bodies of water, and a shoreline 'surf/foam' effect.
- Improved terrain editor - The larger landscape view/sculpt window (resizable on large screens) allows more precise editing and camera positioning, and the surface map tree view is also larger. The sculpt brushes show a visual size indicator, and allow more control over brush size and intensity.
- Numerous other features, user interface improvements and bug fixes.
